    Hello all,

We frequently get the following error message in the altiris log.  I did a lot of search about understanding the problem but can't find the solution.

I have no more idea about how to troubleshoot this.  Thanks for your help,

    Dany

    Hi,

The error might appear then inventory on the client cannot obtain information about OS system. On a client side after inventory run directory with collected data classes exists in default path C:\Program Files\Altiris\Inventory\NSI. If file "CLN OS Operating System.bak" has empty or unreadable c0 property then resulting nse file that will be send to NS will contain empty value for OS name and mentioned error will appear in NS log then such nse file processed. Nse file on client side located in folder C:\Program Files\Altiris\Inventory\Outbox, with name like "CLNINV145.bak".

    Thank you,

    Alex.
