  • 1.  Admin passwords not working

    We currently have 3 administrator accounts (including the default admin account).  None of them seem to be working.

    No matter which account is used, we get the message:

     

    The administrator's user name or password is incorrect.  Please enter a valid user name or password.

     

    We are running version 12.1.3001 so the resetpass.bat file is no longer available to us.  The only thing that is available is the link to "email" a temporary password--all in all, a very useless option.  This is a standalone network with no email servers, so there's no way for it to send an email.

    Are there any other options available to reset an admin password in this version?

    Log a web case with support and just ping me the case number & I will make sure to send you the resetpass.bat file via email.

    Does the resetpass.bat file still exist for RU3?

    The answer I just got from Symantec Support (Case 08662160) was basically "Sorry, we can't help you. Please uninstall and reinstall the product."

    Yea, should still be avialable. That's not an acceptable answer.

    Resetpass.bat may or may not work with RU3 release. However if customer is stuck with username and password we can give a try with old resetpass.bat file.

    Provide me the support case number.

    In the log on screen do you see a drop down for domain? If yes then put the given Id and pass and a select the domain see if that works

    The resetpass.bat file did the trick.  The one I found online earlier would not work.

    This is the kind of outstanding response I like to see when I contact support--not the "please uninstall and reinstall".
