AeX HW Logical Disk Usage is incorrect?
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 6 comments
Got an easy one (hopefully) for you guys. Running Inventory Solution 6.2 and attempting to validate the AeX HW Disk Usage data class. Running hardware inventory with no .ini file (aexmachinv.exe) and populating the AeX HW Logical Disk Usage.nsi/.bak file, but the contents are wrong. See below.
The Recycle Bin is at least 93MB, but the local AeX HW Disk Usage.nsi file does not reflect this (the 2nd entry, c1, should also be 93MB).
Any ideas?

It sure sounded easy
however if you're not using the /norbin command line switch it should accurately record the data.

Running the /norbin flag will
Running the /norbin flag will cause the agent to not capture the Recycle Bin size, which is what I'm trying to capture in the first place.
Am trying to track the amount of disk that we'll free up by running a cleanup job to empty the Recycle Bin, temp IE folders, etc.
Any ideas?

Wil, Verify that the /norbin
Wil,
Verify that the /norbin flag is not set in any of your .ini files in the Inventory Agent Package (AeXInvSoln*.ini). I think this is what Jim meant when he made his suggestion.

Yeah, but I must have said it wrong :)
Thanks for the reinforcements Kyle. He did mention he isn't using any .ini files, so I'm not sure if he's running this manually or via policy.

no /norbin in the .ini files
But still getting inconsistent results. GUI says one thing. .nsi file says something else.
Glitch in the matrix?

Is it still showing "0" or
Is it still showing "0" or just a different number that is close? I'm getting at the difference you see in "Size on Disk" vs "Size"?? What SP of Inventory 6.1 are you on?
Thanks,
Kyle
