aex-pluginmanager-bin firewall issue

Created: 17 Oct 2013 | 1 comment

After upgrading to SMP 7.5 we're having a problem allowing our mac agents to update through the firewall. Currently aex-pluginmanager-bin is blocked. I can enable it through the GUI just fine, however I don't want to do this on 700 computers. Trying to manage this through the command line using /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw isn't working correctly.

I'm able to manage all other applications without an issue, except aex-pluginmanager-bin. Apple has removed the --unblockapp and --blockapp commands in 10.8. I can get around this by using --remove which will remove the application from the firewall and then adding it back in. However when I try to remove aex-pluginmanager-bin from the firewall I get Segmentation fault: 11 error. I can remove it through the GUI, but not the command line.

Has anyone run into this?

Hi SamTarr,

Can you please specify from which version did you perform upgrade?

Also can you please specify which settings you have on client machine under General tab for Security& Privacy :

Mac App Store or Mac App stroe and identified developers?

And as I understood you try to upgrade agent through policy?

Thanks,

Andrei
