  • 1.  After changing the domain admin password Device Control domain service cannot start

    Hi,

    We change the Domain Admin password and from that point the SEEDC domain service is refusing to start - i've changed the password of the Log on as

    and still nothing.

    in the logs DomainService i see : Initialization faile: failed to obtain handel for user Domain\DomainAdminUser, errorcode=1008

     

    Please Help!!

    Anna-Sap, good morning, if you use your old credentials does everything work ok?

    It Didnt work, but I do have resolved the issue:

    You can try the following from command line:

    * Cd D:\Program Files\Symantec Endpoint Encryption\Device Control\Management Server\bin>

     

    To sync the password type the command and your new password below:

    * SPAdmin.exe /dbinfoview dbinfo.xml Password=yournewpassword

     

    Note: yournewpassword = your updated password.   Please reboot your machine after the change.

     

    and now it's working!
