Look on the client to see if the client connects to the management server

Enabling and viewing the Access log to check whether the client connects to the management server

Using the ping command to test the connectivity to the management server

Using a browser to test the connectivity to the management server on the client computer

Check for any network problems

Check the debug logs on the client

Recover lost client communication by using the SylinkDrop tool

Check that the management server heap size is correct

Check that the management server is not running multiple versions of PHP

Hello,

Could you please let us know -

1) What older Version of SEPM were you carrying?

2) What OS are you running on the SEPM server?

3) If you have Migrated from the Older Version of SEPM to the Latest Version of SEPM 12.1.1 by running the install over the older version OR by uninstalling older version of SEPM and then installing the SEPM 12.1.1?

4) How many SEP clients do you carry on your Environment?

5) Are you running any Proxy?

6) What happens if you run the Liveupdate from the SEPM server?

SEPM>> Admin >> Servers >> Higlight Local Site >> Click on Download LiveUpdate Content

Awaiting Reply.

Hello,

Could you pull Sylink.log from 1 of the SEP client machine, which is not communicating with the SEPM?

You could collect the log by working on the steps provided below:

How to enable Sylink debugging for the Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x and 12.1 client in the Windows Registry http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH104758

Have you disabled the UAC and Windows Firewall on the Windows 2008 R2 Server machine?

Have you Deployed SEP client packages to all 500 client machines?

Are all the client machines cloned or imaged machines?

If yes, check the Articles below:

1) How to prepare a Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client for cloning (image)

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO54706

2) How to repair duplicate IDs on cloned Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

If the SEPM is not updated and the clients are getting the defs from SEPM, they too will be outdated. Attempt a LUALL.exe from the SEPM and check what happens.
