Endpoint Protection

I have just upgraded from SEPM RU5 to RU6 and restarted my server but SEPM service will not start.  

Is it embedded or SQL db?

Check the scm-server-0.log file for errors/warnings.

Try to run management server configuration wizard agian & if still service failed to start can post the scm-server-0 log file,

The server schema is higher than the database schema. Run Upgrade Wizard to synchronize schemas. Then run the Configuration Wizard.

Can you run the upgrade.bat file then re-run the management server wizard

After the upgrade, did the "Database schema upgrade" wizard start and finish successfully?

If NOT, start it by executing the following file (Run as administrator) and finish it.

<SEPMinstallfolder>\bin\upgrade.bat

If it completed successfully, please check the following files at "<SEPMinstallfolder>\Tomcat\logs" for errors

1) catalina.out (open with notepad and check the last line).

2) scm-server-0.log

I am also replicating with another server.  To run the Upgrade Wizard, it says I have to stop bother servers.

Please stop the SEPM service on the other servers connected to this database.

Ok - That fixed it and everything is coming back online.

I failed to read this anywhere ... could have missed it I suppose but I apparently I have to go ahead and upgrade both management servers (replication partners)  at the same time due to the schema mismatch ... is that what I am understanding?

Exactly.

All SEPM that are sharing a single SQL database must be upgraded at the same time.

Similarly, all SEPM (with their individual database) that are configured as replication partners should be upgraded at the same time. else the replication will fail.
