(Server: "SERVER") (Job: "FullBackup Week1") FullBackup Week1 -- The job failed with the following error: This operation is not supported on 32-bit media servers because Microsoft does not support 32-bit Exchange Management Tools for Exchange Server 2010. You must use a 64-bit media server for this operation.

Hi Sean,

Moved to a new thread...you didn't specify much on your installation and configuration, but check the TN below:

Thanks!

well the issue would be that backup exec goes not install on server 2012  whoch is the the only 64 server installed  so what next ?

Not quite...Server 2008 R2 is 64-bit only too and BE 2012 will install on this...

Just to expand on the above...when Exchange 2010 was released, Windows Server 2008 R2 was the OS of choice on which to run it as it was a 64-bit OS only. As such, BE 2010 would be installed on a media server running this version of Windows. Same applies here...with the timelines for supporting Windows Server 2012 as a media server still a couple of months away, the suggestion would be to install Windows Server 2008 R2 for your media server and BE 2012 with SP2 on top of this.

GRT backups and restores for Exchange 2013 will be released shortly too via SP3...check the update on the blog listed in the BE forum.

Thanks.

SOLUTION
seankg's picture

OK SO THERE IS NO SOLUTION THEN SINCE 2012 IS THE ONLY SYSTEM WE HAVE

...no need to shout with CAPS, and no. Unless you can install Windows Server 2008 R2 on another server, you will either not be able to install it on Windows Server 2012, and if you do, you will be unsupported until such time as you are able to.

Thanks!
