After successfully upgrading SEPM v 12.1 RU1 into 12.1 RU1 MP1, SEPM failed to start ?

Hi,
I don't know how this could happens ?
even after restarting the server, I still unable to start the SEPM server. Here's the error in the event viewer of my Windows Server 2008 Standard 32 bit:

from the above it said that Faulting application Smc.exe, version 11.0.6005.440 which means that was the old version ? while the current installed is v12.1 RU1 not v11 anymore.
How is this possible ?

These are two different issues they may not be releated.
You can also try running managment server configuration wizard.
Start>Programs>Symantec endpoint protection manager>managment server configuration wizard.

the faulting application is becuase you are running SEP 11.ru6 client on the SEPM server machine. However the server is SEPM 12.1.
FOr server issue, can you pass on the scm-server-0.log from the tomcat\logs folder of SEPM?
for the faulting application can you try upgrading to 12.1 ru1 mp1?

the entry is already there "scm.db.datasource=jdbc/metadatabase"
but still the "Management Server Configuration Wizard" failed to launch. and this error Event ID 4096 is logged "The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of -1, the service is being stopped."
While for this article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH191091 I cannotsee any Event ID 1000 in the event viewer so it is not relevant to me.

Better check with the conf.properties file inside the folder
C;\Program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection Manager\Tomcat\conf
or
C;\Program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection Manager\Tomcat\etc
Make sure the file is not 0 bytes. If so then ur configurations for SEPM is corrupted you need to contact Symante support..
If possible upload the scm-server-o.log

C;\Program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection Manager\Tomcat\conf\conf.properties is 4 KB or not 0 KB which means it is good.
C;\Program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection Manager\Tomcat\etc\conf.properties is 2 KB or not 0 KB which means it is good too.

Yes I ahve execute the upgrade.bat from double clicking or even from the command prompt but somehow it failed to execute (got nothing than blank black prompt).

Yes I have Pete,
and so far the solution is very simple
, I wasn't thinking about this before,
go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\webapps\ROOT\clientpkg, install the jre-6u31-windows-i586.exe file into the default directory and then go to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6, copy and paste the the lib and bin directories, then
Overwrite the lib and bin directories under C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\jre
after that run the Management Server Configuration Wizard.
That seems to fixed the issue.
