    Posted Jun 12, 2009 02:23 AM
    Dear all,

    Very Good morning,

Yesterday after upgrading the SEP client on  my exchange server from MR4 MP1 to MR4 MP2, the SEP gives me this error and getting 2 entrie in te Add/Remove Program.

    imagebrowser image
Steps I did to solve this problem,
    1. Disabled all the SEP services
    2.Restarted the system
    3Removed the resent SEP
    4. Restarted the system again
    5. Tried to remove the older SEPbut after some time it Network card got disabled and the installation stoped
    6. Manually removed the SEP from the Registry entries by followin this document "http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/5db8e519e16d42f2882573290005aa1d?OpenDocument"
    7. Reinstalled the latest SEP.

Earlier all the 3 components of SEP was installed, but as suggested by Symantec Support now only the Antivirus and Antispyware is installed.

It was working fine and getting the updates but it still showing this error and giving 2 ntries i the add/remove program.

Its a 64 bit Standard R2 windows 2003 Server OS and also Symantec Mail security for exchange is running on the same so I wil not be able to run the Clean Wipe Utility on the system.

    Please help me ASAP

    Thanking you

    Dear All,

    The issue got resolved.

I tried with windows clean utilities and restarted the system, but the entries was still there. So again i deleted all the regestry kye entries and restarted the systems and the Installed the SEP from the CD as a unmanaged mode and then replaced the Sylink.xml file.

    Its working.

    Thanking you
