  • 1.  Again !!!!!! Symantec Endpoint Manager 11.1 (NO internet access allowed) not manually updating

    Posted Dec 13, 2013 12:08 PM

This problem was resolved back in September, but it happened again.

    Previous post:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-endpoint-manager-111-not-internet-access-not-manually-updating

Solution was to Clear Corrupt Virus Definitions

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-clear-corrupt-virus-definitions-sepm

But it is happening again....... I cleared the old definitions, but still will not update. This is becoming unacceptable and such a headache.

    Thoughts??????

    Background:

This server is behind a firewall and is not allowed to touch the internet and must be manually updated. At the present I cannot update the version. I am kinda pigeon holed you could say. I need to find a work around given my restrictions. Any concrete thoughts would be much appreciated. As posted above from the previous occurance, many solutions were tried, but the only one that worked was clearing the old definitions, but this time it isn't working.

You're on 11.1?? That's one of the first if I can recall...

You can turned on some advanced logging:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102413

There might be some valuable info in the log to give us a better idea.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Sometime system reboot can help? or SEPM logs would required to troubleshoot further?

I stopped SEPM to clear the virus definitions..... I also have restarted the server 3 times.

The jdb never gets past the incoming folder.....
