agent-linux-rhel4-ia64.bin fails
Updated: 22 Nov 2011 | 3 comments
Looks like CSP doesn't support this version of the RHEL kernel on a x86 platform.
Or do I have the right rpm? Please let me know. thanks.

This is the wrong product
This is the wrong product forum. I am moving this thread to the SCSP forum for you.
Kernel version is not officially supported
The 2.6.9-100.ELsmp x86_64 kernel is not officially supported, which means that Symantec has not put this build through quality assurance testing, and cannot guarantee that it will run on this kernel version without issue.
The RHEL 4 compatible agent has been frozen since release 5.2.7 (5.2.7.184), meaning that there is no new development on the agent for RHEL 4. See the attached Platform Feature Matrix for more information.
There is a switch that you can use to bypass the prerequisite check, which will allow you to install the agent on the kernel version you are on. However, the results cannot be guaranteed, so if you go this route you are on your own to fully test before deploying in a production environment.
Run to command: touch
Run to command: touch /etc/scsp-check-bypass && ./agent-linux-rhel4-ia64.bin
