Agents not communicating

    Hi

    We using Client Management Suite 7.1

    We observe that from last 6 days clients not communicating with NS server.

    We deployed one software it got installed on all the client system but it is not reflecting in NS console also if we fetch report from SQL server then also its not showing.

    And when i check in inventory report Last scan date from last 6 days communication not happening

    Hi CBZ9104, 

    Is this software reflected in the add remove programs ? and where do you expect to see this software (which dataclass) ?

    Hi Tema

    Yes software is reflected in the add remove programs.

    We just fetch the Inventory report and observer that clients not sending basic inventory. In inventory report LAST SCAN DATE of all the system showing 12th Sept 2014.

    I check on NS server under program data -- Eventque folder -- there are above 20 lakhs NSE files are created.

    Hi CBZ9104,

     

    Double check if the IIS services started and all the Altiris Services as well, most importantly Altiris File Reciever and Altiris Message Dispatcher

    Yes all the services are running properly even console also working properly.

    Hi CBZ9104, 

    Can you access one of the clients which is affected by the problem, send basic inventory manually and upload the logs from the agent here ?

    Hi CBZ9104, 

    Your client are unable to reach the server via HTTP, getting malformed responses. Double-check if you can communicate with your NS server via HTTP from the clients and check the network configuration, maybe some new firewall was implemented or proxy server.

    We able to deploy any software through software delivery and its getting successfully installed on client system also if we send the configuration update from NS to client that also successfully updated.

    Hi CBZ9104,

    As per the logs, your agent are unable to post events :

     

    "9/16/2014 12:57:48 PM","PostFile to 'http:/<</..Altiris/NS/Agent/PostEvent.aspx?priority=0&source=9D375686-E2AB-4499-B4FC-DBDD5E80F1DB' failed: HTTP error:  (-2147209951)","AeXNetworkTransport","AeXNSAgent.exe","1672"

    Hence Basic Inventory or Software Inventory will not be collected. 

    Try restarting the IIS on the NS server. As I said double check if no proxy is in the middle between NS and Agent.

    Hi Tema

    I just restarted the NS and SQL server both now my altiris service is not getting started it giving error 1609 The service did not start due to log on failure

    Hi CBZ9104,

    Have you chaged your administrators account password or have you chnaged the account you use to run the Altiris services ?

    Make sure the the account and password are specified correctly under the Log On in the Service properties.

    Our administrator account issue has been resolve and I have check there is no proxy in environment or configured on NS Server.

    Also i have check http://servername/AeXNS/Postevent.asp giving below result on client system

    Hi CBZ9104,

     

    As I said before, restart the IIS services. Try to see if you have any ASP.NET errors in the Microsoft Event Viewer and take a look at the Altiris Log Viewer as well on the NS, try to see if any errors are coming from w3wp.exe or arsthost.exe.
