    Hi all,

Had about 2 users having a credential popup window for proxy access relating to Akamai Netsession interface. Is this a Norton thing?

If so how has this just happened to these users?

Im slightly worried as i don't want this message to be constant for all clients with endpoint.

    Thanks

    Hello,

What version of SEP clients are you running?

    Are these managed clients?

If yes, are these clients communicating to SEPM properly?

All Liveupdate servers are using akamai technology for definition and patch updates..

When you run Liveupdate it goes to -

    liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com

    or

    liveupdate.symantec.com

then these site search which is the closest Akamai server in your location and then from those akamai server your definitions get downloaded.

Symantec definitions are hosted on Akamai servers. So that for liveupdate around the world everybody doesn't have to go to US Liveupdate servers.

    Check these Threads:

    Hope that helps!!

Set Exception for Akamai NetSession Interface from Sepm if clients are managed ,

if these Sep clients are unmanaged set Akamai NetSession Interface as exception from tru scan and that should be ok

Akamai NetSession Interface Service should give you path to set this Interface as exception in Sep .
