I am currently using MS for Exchange ver 4.6.1.107 on Exchange 2003. The system has been running for over a year with licenses not set to expire for 6 more months.
Yesterday I stopped receiving any email from outside my domain. I disabled the spam filter and now I can get emails again. System is still running with the same filter levels I have had all along with no updates on the server over the past week.
I look in the event logs and I don't have any errors from Symantec or Brightmail until I restart my server this morning. I receive this one message now.
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Brightmail
Event Category: (12)
Event ID: 514
Description:
The description for Event ID (514) is Source (brightmail) cannot be found. The local computer my not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display mesages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: [Brightmail] (Error:3636.652): [12003] Config file not found in registry.
Any thoughs short of removing the program from the server and reinstalling it? Thanks.
Robert

Did you ever figure out what was happening with the Brightmail error you posted to this site. I didn't see any replies, but perhaps you figured out what was causing it. i just saw it on a client's Windows 2003 SBS server for the first time today. The error is below.
[Brightmail] (ERROR:1108.4348): [12003] Config file not found in registry.
Thanks,
Tony
