  • 1.  All the SEP clients lost green dots

    Posted Aug 09, 2011 05:19 PM

My SEPM is installed on workgroup computer. All of SEP clients are connected to it. After I joined my SEPM to Domain, All of my SEP clients from SEPM are offline which no green dots on them. All of my SEP clients could not get update from SEPM. How can I make it work so all my SEP clients can re-connect back to my SEPM sever?

    Thank you,

    Hello,

You can export new xml file from the server and import it to clients. after that all client will connect to server.

    Best Regards.

You can use sylink replacer and import a list of IP's of the machines that went offline to get them to connect back up.

I copied these file from working pc and replaced them on broken pc but it showed yellow dots which related my Antivirus could not get update from server.

I noticed from SEPM, it showed 2 defaults (Default Group and Default:AntiVirus) under My Company. The package from SEPM was assigned to Default Group (before pc joined to Domain). How can reassign it to other Default?

    Thanks

    For ver 11.x

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH102681

    For ver 12.1

Could be the user access rights changed to that of the domain properties. Especially if the server is in a different subnet as the users.

Windows firewall should be off on clients and on the server

You should be able to telnet port 8014 /80 for client to the server and vice versa.

    Like Rafeeq said,

Double check the firewall. As soon as you joined the domain that computer could have been assigned some Group Policies that turned on the firewall that could be blocking the ports that your SEPM uses to comunicate.
