All settings missing from PGP desktop after Windows 7 crash...

Created: 19 Nov 2012 | 1 comment

Hi All,

My Windows 7 system crashed and needed to be hard booted... after getting back into windows, it looks like my PGP desktop lost all it's settings, keys are missing, etc. It seems to have returned to a "fresh installed" state...

Have any of you seen this problem? any known solutions to quickly restore the settings? I have a fully functional backup of my drive... If I had to restore PGP settings from the backup, which files should I restore? how about the registry settings?

Thanks,

Niranjan

You may want to right click on All Keys in PGP Desktop, and select Properties to see if it is set for the default keyring location of C:\Users\USER\Documents\PGP.  And also check for the preference file of PGPprefs.xml and make sure it is in the default location of C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\PGP Corporation\PGP
