This issue has been solved. See solution.

Would you know why any USB device would be blocked after installing SEP 12 on a WIn7 notebook – even though device control is not used. When
SEP 12 is uninstalled a USB device is readable. Even when installing SEP 11 , USB devices can be read, but the moment the SEP is upgrade to SEP 12 is installed all USB devices do not appear? All policies are exactly the same for SEP 11 and SEP 12. There are no risk or SONAR logs and all virus definitions are up to date.

Anyone experience this?

There was a smilar issue. do you see that it was uninstalled from Eventviwer?

withdraw the policy from SEPM even if NTP is not installed.

Its not every pc , just one or two specific notebooks. NTP is installed as feature - but no firewall enabled.

I cant understand why withdrawing a policy that already has been assigned to 10000+ clients and now only 1-2 notebooks are not seeing USB drives.

Is the Application and Device control component installed? If so, uninstall only that component and see what the result is

Looked at the SEP logs for the machine and it  showed that drvinst.exe was being blocked by ADC policy.

After checking the ADC policy...the executable was added as a suspect file. Removed the process from ADC policy and all is well. Thanks.
