Looking for some help, we have always had a noticible difference in performance between 32bit and 64 bit machines when access the DS console.

to the point that it is unusable on a 64bit machine

win xp and 7 it is the same.

has anyone else experienced this?

we have also got the console app-v'd and we still get the same performance issues

We run the console on Win 7 x64 here and don't notice too much of a performance difference from when we ran on XP.  The only time we notice a lag is when the server has been up for a long time without being rebooted or across a WAN.

We haven't had that problem.

DS 6.9 Console performance issues can generally be attributed to the number of people accessing the console at the same time. At one time, we were told that the DS console was designed to have no more than 7 people access the console at the same time. This is because the consoles update in real time, so the more consoles you have open, the more the app and database are updating. We sometimes get around this issue by copying the .exe and required .dlls down to the local PC.

You can always check to see which SQL driver you are using. Try using the SQL Server Native Client v2011.x, instead of the SQL Server v6.x driver.
