    Hi all,

I have a couple of question I hope you can help me with:

    1. In our environment, ICMP traffic hasn’t been enabled from the Clients to the NS, as far as I understand the agent won’t be able to test and assign the download speed, is this a TRUE statement? What is the default speed defined on the agent to download packages? Is there any way to set this value manually?

    2. As we are planning to deploy images to the Clients and use the Wake On LAN functionalities:
      1. I understand Wake On LAN use the ports 52028 and 52029, does anyone know if these ports have to be enabled(listening) on the agent or on the server side?

If anyone has any information or documentation that can be useful, could you please share it with me?

    Thanks for your help.

If ICMP traffic is not enabled from the clients to the NS, you cannot do percentage-based bandwidth throttling.  You can still enable bandwidth throttling by setting a maximum bandwidth (Kbit/s) in the Targeted Agent Settings policy.  However, this isn't really bandwidth throttling, and could still cause a scenario whereby all available bandwidth is used by Altiris.

Ideally, you would open ping to the NS from the clients.  Alternatively, allow your network administrator to manage Altiris at the network level, outside of the solution.

Regarding WOL, these ports should not be blocked on the user side.
