  • 1.  Altiris 7.1 SP2 :- How to install Office 2013 if Office 2010 is already installed

    Hello,

    We have 7.1 SP2 environment.

    I want to install Office 2013.

    My agents computer is installed with Office 2010.

    Now, I need to upgrade to Office 2013, then should i create Office 2013 package & send the package.

    Or i first need to uninstall Office 2010, and then install Office 2013.

    When you create the Office 2013 Package using the Microsoft admin tool you get the option to specify uninstalling previous versions of Office so you don't need to do it with Symantec.

    You could also virtualise Office 2013, so that your users can still use Office 2010 whilst getting used to 2013.  In fact, you could virtualise Office 2010 as well, uninstall 2010 from the base, deploy both layers and then once your users are OK with 2013, simply deactivate and then delete the 2010 layer.

    Protirus have recently created those two layers in such a way that they work side-by-side.
