Has Symantec released a early life support statement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7?

As you know there is currently no support statement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0. This did make a brief appearance back in September, but was then pulled.

I'm personally hoping/expecting an announcement before the end of this month. Will see if I can get a product manager to comment directly on this thread.

RHEL 7 has changed so much that it's going to take a huge effort to get support working for ext4 and the new XFS file system. I'm mobilising as many resources as possible on this but I still think it'll be well into next year before we get it all resolved.

Quick question, will you be planning to ultilse ext4 or XFS in RHEL 7?

Are these deployment points the only show-stoppers? If so, perhaps an early support statement can be released which excludes deployment solution?

The new file system (XFS file system) is one of the reasons we are seriously looking at RHEL 7.

 

At this stage for us Deployment  Solution would be less important than the SMA, inventory, and patching.

Full support with the exception of DS is definitely in progress and will ship in either HF5 or at the latest in 7.6 early next year. Much of the work is already compete.

HF5 didn't have any support at all for RHEL7 so I suppose (hope) that full support is still planned to be in the 7.6 release? When will 7.6 be released?

We are currently stuck with several systems not manageble by Altiris due to lack of support for RHEL7. We are using both ext3, ext4 and XFS. So I really hope for a quick release of 7.6.
