  • 1.  Altiris 7.5 (Mac) Agent Disconnecting

    Hello All,

     

    I've having an interesting issue with a new 7.5 environment.  As this is our first go round with OSX, we have decided to start with the new environment to bring all of the Macs into.  After configuring SSL and installing the 7.5 agent, the client registers, receives tasks etc...but i noticed that it will disconnect once in a while.  I'm wondering if this is a power saver feature of the computer or if there is some sort of keep alive signal from Altiris that isn't coming across.

    Hi,

    how you've been noticed that Mac ULM Agent will disconnect once in a while?

    What says ULM Agent log?  ⇒ /opt/altiris/notification/nsagent/var/aex-client.log

    Also you can check more detailed logging of ULM Agent to see what happens, when ULM Agent on Mac becomes disconnected.

    • Open /opt/altiris/notification/nsagent/etc/client.conf
    • Set appropriate level of logging for debug_level=
    • Set appropriate debug_file_size=   (To avoid log rotation and useful info to be lost)
    • Set appropriate debug_backup_copies=  (To avoid log rotation and useful info to be lost)
    • Save changes for /opt/altiris/notification/nsagent/etc/client.conf
    • Restart ULM agent
    • When this problem will happen, save logs and check their output.

    Hi,

    Do you mean  agent is disconnected from Task Server?

    This can be due to some network issues, mac configuration (sleep, power saver) etc.

    Do determine root cause, as Igor has mentioned,  please collect devnote logs on agent side and logs from TaskServer/NS server, and share these with us.
