  • 1.  Altiris 7.6 HF6 breaks Log viewer

    This is the second test system I have upgraded from HF 5 to HF 6.  After completion the Altiris Logviewer does not open.  If I open the EXE directly I receive the error "Windows cannont access the specified device, path nor file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them." Permissions seem fine on the diagnostics folder. Whis is a Windows 2012 R2 Server

     

    The Legacy log viwer opens, but the new one has spoiled me :)  Has anyone else ran across this?

    Hi JJV,

    have you checked NS logs and "Event Viewer" logs, when update to 7.6 HF6 was running to see potential root cause of this issue?

    Try to re-install log viewer manually - Does this problem still occur?

    On NS machine, open this location C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris\  and find there altiris_diagnostics_7_6_x64.msi ⇒ install it.
