  • 1.  Altiris Agent not downloading packages correctly

    I've recently begun testing  for an eventual Windows 7 rollout for my company and I've run into an issue with the Altiris Agent in Windows 7.  The packages downloading are going extremely slow, almost like the bandwidth is being throttled, even when I have unchecked 'Enable bandwidth control'.  It took almost an hour and a half to download an Adobe Reader package, something that would've have been a few seconds had it been on an XP box.  Has anyone run into this issue, am I missing something here?

    Windows 7 is supported officially yet. Are you running NS v7 or v6?

    I'm running v6 SP3.

    Page 11 on the accompying .pdf - Altiris KB46439, v6 of Notification Server will not support Windows 7 until Q1 of 2010. v7 will support it, with the release of SP3 for the platform and agent.
    Therefore, if the vendor doesn't support it, your options will be limited. It may be time to take a look at a test v7 environment as well.
