Hi

We having Client Managment Suite 7.1 SP2 MP1

Suddenly all the altiris agents are stop working getting any software delivery task or any update client update configuration task

All their unitary task install are failling

All the altiris agents are registered properly with task servers.

Sorry just to clarify, Can you assign a task to an agent and the agent recieves the task but fails to execute it or does the agent never receive the task?

Does the agent list your task server correctly?

Agent not receving any task 

On your Site Server check the "Altiris Client Task Data Loader" to ensure that service is running. If your NS server is your site server then check the same service on it.

On the site server and task server all the required services are started properly.

One thing I noticed NS server registered with different task server instead of registered itself 

For our site servers they are on a different subnet than the clients and in order for the site server to register itself to itself I assign the subnet that the site server is on in the site that I want it to service. That seems to work for us and the site server will know that it is assigned to that site and always register itself for that site and the clients for that site know that is their site server. Hope that helps.

I see this all the time, Either the task dataloader service is not running or needs to be restarted. Sometime you a have to recycle the IIS too to get that working.

I have put my Task servers to restart Task dataloader service daily and reboot weekly and have not seen the issue. I know its bit excessive but works.

On one of the client machine please try to delete the 'Task Cache' by cleaning up all files under the below folder...

Before deleting stop the 'Symantec Management Agent' Service.

C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\TaskManagement\cache\*.* (Delete all files..)

Start the agent...

Check if it works well.

If it works, i shall provide you a script which you can run on all the clients to fix the issue.

Hi All

Our problem got resolve and it was due maintenance windows was enabled for that period, so we disabled the maintenance window policy and it is working fine.
