Altiris CMS 7.1 Disk images

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Is there a way to specify the location of disk images like we do for the software library using UNC or any workarounds? I'm setting up a few package server as well and would like to have the images stored on a separate drive (SAN). thanks!

There are 2 ways to solve the problem:

1. if your clients are pointing to RSS (remote site server) with deoplyment Site Server Componnent install, then point your client machine to RSS.

All the images for those clients will be on RSS not on SMP machine. You can defince the ip range of client machine to the RSS.

2. Create image on HTTP location.

does it require to have the task service on the RSS? if so somehow I can only install the package service on site server, I can't check the boxes for the other services...

You have to install IIS on a Site Server to allow the other services to be allowed to be installed.  Check out my other article here to see more details:
