  • 1.  Altiris CMS 7.1 login error message on SQL server

    I noticed a login error message on the SQL server that holds the Symantec CMDB but all the Altiris services seem to be running fine. The NS server is on a separate box and the services run under a domain login that has access to the SQL server. My main concern is if the NS server is failing on doing some sort of DB maintenance due to this login error on the SQL server. Here's the error:

     

    2011-06-14 08:30:09.30 Logon       Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11.
    2011-06-14 08:30:09.30 Logon       Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\ALTIRIS$'. [CLIENT: xx.xx.xx.xx]

    I usually just add the Computer Account to the administrators group in SQL Server and give it full rights over the CMDB database.

    Just added the computer account as db_owner for the symanted CMDB, no more login errors after that. thanks!
