  • 1.  Altiris CMS 7.1 Patch Solution SP1, getting loads of red errors in logs.

    Started getting attached messages every 10 mins or so, anyone know how to fix it.

    but you could follow the directions here: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH46342

    It looks like you need to recreate some packages, or at least track down those guids. The 10 minute cycle is repeated because that is the default for the SMP to do that.

    All went really currupt somehow, had to recreate all patch polices and downloads in the end.

    This helped; https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/altiris-patch-management-removing-patch-packages

    Then had to manually delete any files that were left in the package driectory and start again.

    I'm left with a load of orphan patch packages does anyone know how I can delete theses?

    Deleted orphans via a report of all software resources.

    I then had to run a full import of all software bulletins.
