  • 1.  Altiris CMS7 licenses keep dropping out

    Since applying recent updates I now have this problem.

    My license count keeps getting reset back to default, this happening every 2 days.

    We have 4000 licenses but it keeps resetting back 10.

    Any ideas,

    Try running the License Removal utility to remove all licenses, including the trial licenses, then adding back your production licenses:

    Out of interest.

    We've seen a few occurences where the SWV agent and Internet Explorer had issues with certificates causing them to be removed from the certificate store (where the Altiris licenses are kept).

    (1) I don't have SWV agent

    (2) Removing the license's and re-adding didn't work

    (3) I have a job open with support, this worked for a few days.

    I want you to reconfigure pcAnywhere.  You will want to run the following from a command line:
    From: <InstallDir>\Altiris\Notification Server\bin
    Run "AexConfig.exe /configure <InstallDir>\Altiris\pcA\Config\pca.config"
    then run "AeXConfig.exe /configure <InstallDir>\Altiris\pcA\Config\pcA_Upgrade.Config"
     
    Restart the console and if you continue to have the pcA license issue, get me the a.logs.
     
    (4) My case has now been passed up higher maybe some underlying DB issues.
