    Posted Jun 28, 2012 03:11 AM

    i got a altiris deployments server 6,9

we have a old altiris but we decided to build a new

the new server is on 2 switches with vlan, but i have made sure that the client im testing on is on the same vlan as the server

but when i get to the altiris boot after the pxe boot it say something about lost connection, and sometimes it gets connection but i upload the image with 5mb per minute, so it take 24 days to make one image

    anyone got a idea?

24 days not good enough for you huh? ;-)

From what you say, it's difficult to tell if it's network hardware, computer hardware, server hardware or drivers.

My first guess though is that you've got mis-matched duplex settings -take a look here:

If not, as this is a new setup by the sounds of it, I'd first of all check that file copies between the client and the server in production environments are going at the speed you expect. If you get an appalling speed in production, it's not going to be much better in automation.

Some more details on what you've tried so far to diagnose, what automation options you've tried, and whether you've tried a different client etc etc. All this will help.

Here also is a link to the slow imaging troubleshooting guide which is helpful,

    Kind Regards,
    Ian./

Check if the Altiris Panel item is configured proeprly -

Disk Imaging Tab ->Check 'Use Disk Image Multicast threshold of ' set value as 0 clients.
