Altiris Deployment Console 6.9 SP2 - Compaq T5300 do not appear
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
Hi there!
we work with a little number of t5300 clients on several locations.
On every location is a w2k3 standard server set up with DS 6.9 SP2 on MSDE database.
The T5300 are set up to defaults.
They get an ip through dhcp, they´re not joined in a domain.
They just start up with the built in ce.net and connect to the w2k3 server via rdp
Annoyingly on 3 locations do the t5300 not appear in the console.
or, in 1 case, the thin client appears, but it´s status is offline, even though it´s online (i´m sitting in front of it)
Has anybody a hint, what to do?
Normally, the clients connect automatically to the console, aren´t they?
Thx in advance,
Oliver

Thin Clients
I don't personally deal with thin clients. However, what agent are you using (AClient or DAgent)? Is Port 402 open in both directions?

I think I got it
the problem was the agent.
Port 402 was open all the time.
I´m not sure which client is implemented in the ce.net OS (the taskbar icon looks like an "a")
The Client properties weren´t set up properly on the mentioned locations an the concerning thin clients.

the broadcast server 225.1.2.3 was not registered in the client properties and the upper checkbox was not checked
That was all in my case. The Clients auto logon on the Management Console and remote Managemet works fine
I updated the settings and everything is fine.
