  • 1.  Altiris DS 7.1 System Requirements

    Can someone tell me what the system requirements are for Altiris DS 7.1 are? Currently have a virtual machine ready to be tested on which is running;

    • Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2,
    • 32bit OS,
    • 2GB RAM

    Will it work on this system? Can someone list me the requirements please?

    So you need to look at the requirements for SMP for the version of DS you want.

    DS 7.1 runs on SMP 7.0, needs Windows 2003 32 bit.

    DS 7.1 SP1 runs on SMP 7.1 needs Windows Server 2008 R2 (only 64 bit)

    You should install DS 7.1 SP1 on SMP 7.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.  2GB RAM work for evaluation purposes but 4GB would be better.

    If you have/want an older version of the product, then you have to downgrade instead of upgrade.  For the new version, as Clemson said, you'd have to go 64bit.  For the older version you have to go 2003 32bit.

    All is functioning now, the system I am currently running it on is as follows.

    Windows Server 2008 R2, do not install SP1. SP1 Not supported for Altiris 7.1, would not allow me.

    SQL Express 2008 R2

    4GB RAM (2GB Minimum)
