  • 1.  Altiris Error while deploying Package Server

    Hi,


    We tried to configure a Package Server in our Altiris environment. While going through the logs we found the following error:

    Hi Sachin, actually we have spent nearly 20 days with Symantec Enterprise Support and the Backline Team but the problem did not get resolved. 

    The problem was that while creating the Package Server the Notification Server use to insert the date in the DB from the system date. The NS OS was imaged on Arabic calendar and system locale with the current year being 1434. SQL replied that it required a date range above 1900.

    We even changed the calendar and system locale back to English (US) and still the problem persisted.

    It is an unknown problem. Support also uploaded the following KB article:

    Unfortunetly, this didnt work at all and we had to tell the customer that the Production Servers OS needs to be rebuilt with calendar and system locale in English (US).

    So the solution was that:

    Make sure that the OS of all the servers where Altiris components are installed must have calendar, and more importantly system locale in English (US).
