I built a test lab with a DC, 7 Desktop and one NS server. I I successfully deploy the agent to every desktop from the beginning. In NS, I only import object from the 'Computer' OU. I can find all computer in the filter 'Windows computers with NS7 agents'. After that, I remove one agent from one of those desktop by NS. I checked that files in program files are removed. When I get back to NS, however, the desktop still shown in the windows computers with ns7 agent filter. I ran update filter task once but the result remains. I then move the desktop computer to another OU, which is not sync to NS server I also checked the directory synchronize option in order to remove that particular desktop. But I cam still find the computer in the directory filter in NS. How can the filter content be updated?

The dynamic filters are based on (basic) inventory data from the agent. When you uninstall the agent, nothing will update anymore.

You either have to set the asset status to "retired" (making it an unmanaged computer), or delete the computer (and reimport it again if needed).

AD Sync does only delete objects, when they were initially imported by a AD import rule.

    Thanks Mistral.

We will periodically remove or disable AD computer object in the computer OU when the computer is retired.

is there any way to update this info to Altiris automatically?

The only two built in ways i know, to automatically retire/remove computers within the SMP are:

    1. AD sync (only works if initially imported by an AD rule)

    2. Settings -> Notification Server -> Purging Maintenance -> Purging Maintenance

"Purge managed computers reporting to this NS, which have not reported data for <time span>" (delete or retire)
