Just some addtional information
The link provided above will download the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) installer, which will help you load the Symantec Managment Platform (SMP) . That is the only way to load the SMP (which is Notification Server 7), as well as any additional solutions, and licenses.
I would take a deep breath and read some of the documentation available, as well as the comments listed here and on Altirigos.
Don't simply upgrade over the top without knowing what you are doing or what the consequences are. NS7 is a very different set of technologies than v6.
Altiris KB Article 45803 - Planning and Implementation (also see the side link on that article for migration best practices link).

Hi Jim, thanks for that extra info - thats great. That was actually my next question, what should i be looking out for? Some of the install docs i have looked at already seem a bit all over the place!
I shall have a look at your link,
Cheers.
Hello, Thank you for your
Hello,
Thank you for your email, the SIM installer is what controls the entire NS installation process and this will need to be used when upgrading to CMS7.
As part of the install process you will be asked if you want to upgrade from 6.5 to 7 and then you will go through the process of exporting the 6.5 data and importing into 7.
Normally the download is via the SIM and then controlled by a XML file, you could download the CMS7 seperately from the Symantec Site but you would need then to alter the install locations to the XML file.

David
