Altiris Recovery Solution database server on Windows 2008r2 (64-bit)?

Created: 14 Mar 2012 | 2 comments

I didn't seem to find the ARS Database server requirements are in the release notes.  We are using ARS 6.2 SP4.  Our ARS server is on Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 and our Database server has been working fine on Windows 2003 x64 with SQL 2005.  We plan to upgrade the database server and I'm wondering if there would be any issues if we use Windows 2008r2 x64?  We are not moving the ARS server, only the DB server.

Thanks

Majed

Recovery Solution 6.2 SP4 requires MS SQL Server 2005. I don't know if MS SQL Server 2005 has any issue in case if it is installed on Windows 2008r2 x64.

You can run SQL 2005 on Server 2008, just be sure to apply the current Service Pack (still SP4 I think?) afterwards and before restoring the databases.

Thanks,
