Altiris Report - Field for Text input?

Created: 21 Jun 2013 | 10 comments

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a report with a field that can be filled with text? for example a simple basic report: Computer, Domain, username, and *Description* based on text entry.

we don't own Asset Management, so that rules that out.

Thanks

A field that can be filled with text. For example a field called 'Description' and filled in with a text 'Currently offline until project over'.

As long as 'Currently offline until project over' can be found in a table that the report is querying, then yes you can do this, by using a string valued parameter.

Thanks for the response SK, is there a guide I can follow where I can find  a sample of this report?

The majority of our reports have such fileds, for example, Installed Software.

You can simply clone it, and then go into edit mode to find out how its parameters are configured.

You want a field or an extra editable column? Fields are on top of the report and you can enter parameters to use in the query. If its not in the database or added in the sql query it wont be in the report. You could add and empty column description in the query then save the report as spreadsheet and add your comments there.

I would like a a field at a top example "Status" and then the column is editable say "available", or any text input.
