Could you please turn on the verbose logging on some agent that fails to register, reproduce the problem and attach the complete agent side log file? The current partial log does not include much of the entries that should be there.

You can increase the logging level from the agent UI - see logging options on the "Agent Settings" page.

    thanks!

    Hi,

Please check the state of "Altiris Object Host Service" and "Altiris Client Task Data Loader": both should be started and both should be configured under the Local System account.

If services are running then, if possible, please do the next steps:

    1. Clean-up logs directory on NS (default is "C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SMP\Logs")

    2. Turn on all log levels in log viewed: LogViewer menu -> Option - Log Options: check all check-boxes in Loggable Severities section.

Altiris Profiler -> Profiling-> Start Profiling-> SQL and Code

    4. Stop "Altiris Object Host Service", restart Altiris "Client Task Data Loader". Wait until "Altiris Object Host Service" will start.

    5. Open SMA agent UI and try to register SMA to ask server: in "Task Status" tab push "reset agent" button.

Altiris Profiler ->File->Export-> SQL and Code trace data.

It might take up to 2 minutes for the registration process. Please wait and then zip and attach logs: in LogViewer UI select menu File ->  Watch Folders. Unselect SIM logs and press "ZIP" toolbar button. Zip file will be produced, please share it with Sergei or me.

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    Hi,

Thank you for provided logs - they were helpful.

Current idea is that, by some reason, Symantec Management Agent guid and NSResourceGuid in CoreSettings.config file are different.

Please compare these guilds: SMA GUID displayed in the SMA UI on Agent Setting page, default path to CoreSettings.config is: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SMP\Settings, you fill nee to find string "NSResourceGuid" inside the file.

If guids are different then you will need to replace NSResourceGuid in CoreSettings.config with SMA GUID (hint: you may select GUID in SMA UI and copy it to clipboard by ctrl+c). After guid is replaced, restart "Altiris Service", "Symantec Management Agent"; stop "Altiris Object Host Service" and restart "Altiris Client Task Data Loader service.

Please let me know if it will change the situation with errors on NS.

Also, may you provide additional information:

    - from that version on SMP you have perform the upgrade?

    - maybe anything special has happened with NS? (like SMA reinstall, site-server re-creation etc.)

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    Thanx Alex for thequick response...

I just did what you tell me, and as you said the NSResourceGuid was diferent in CoreSettings.config file...

i did exactly as instructed and everything is working fine again.. all clients are registering on the task server without a problem, and no more error logs are raising.

Also, this es le info you ask me before:

    - from that version on SMP you have perform the upgrade?

    7.5 sp1

    - maybe anything special has happened with NS? (like SMA reinstall, site-server re-creation etc.)

none of above... i just only upgrade the solution..

Thank you, really appreciate your help, =)
