Deployment Solution

Hi,

we use Altiris Development suite 6.9 sp3 for HP and DELL  thin client deployment. Now we would like to buy some hp thin clients with Windows® Embedded Standard 7
installed. As I see HP does not privide Altiris client in the thin client (Enhanced Write Filter and File-based Write Filter; Microsoft Firewall; Windows Media Player 12; HP TeemTalk Terminal Emulation 7; HP Remote Grapics Software Receiver; HP Device Manager agent; HP Client Automation agent; HP ThinState; Adobe Flash Player 10; HP Universal Print Driver (available as add-on)).

Is it possible to install Altiris client to the Windows® Embedded Standard 7? Should we migrate to Altiris to new versio? what about licenses and legacy clients?

We are in the process of deploying HP thin clients that are shipped with Windows 7 Embedded. I know that I could replace the OS with Windows XP Embedded but due to some decisions made above me, our OS standard must be Windows 7 and that also includes our thin clients. I would love to be able to configure and deploy the thin client images using Altiris, plus the have the ability to remote to the thin client to adjust any settings if needed. I'm willing to upgrade DS 6.9 to 7.1 if that is what it takes.

Please let us know when Deployment Solution will be supporting Windows 7 Embedded

Support for WES7 was added in DS 6.9 SP5 (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC3851&key=55263) which was released about a week ago.
