  • 1.  Altiris/Symantec Management Agent and Enable Bandwidth Control

    Issue: Unable to use Enable bandwidth control checkbox within the Altiris/Symantec Management Agent when User Account Control (UAC) is enabled.

    We have noticed this issue since UAC was implemented by Microsoft. We finally opened a case with Symantec regarding this, but it would seem a larger issue that others would have seen. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Has anyone opened a case for this? Does anyone know of an existing KB on this issue?

    Yes, we see the same issue.  I opened a case long ago in early SMP 7.1 days.   They told me it was a known issue.  I would have hoped a fix would have been put in by now, but we still see the issue.  I've never seen an official KB or BUG report on it.

    short solution is to have techs use RAAD - what we did

    KNOWN ISSUE: User cannot modify the options for blockouts and bandwidth throttling inside agent UI when UAC is on
