TouchDown

Hi

My phone contacts are being corrupted and I am not sure if it is a Google issue or TD?  Contacts are there but some people have multiple phone numbers (their own and others) and some are OK.

If I delete contacts and do copy to phone all phone contacts seem OK but after a while they become corrupted.

I am using Touchdown HD 8.5.00094 with a Nexus 6 and 5.1.1. I tried the other version of TD for Smartphones and have the same issue.

By corrupted do you mean that they can no longer be accessed?

No they are all there and accessible some are OK but most numbers while there are associated with other names.

This can happen if you have contacts syncd from various sources. Android does have some mechanisms to aggregate contacts where they try to infer contact identity and unify those. 

Hello Symantec guys,

My problem is that my Touchdown in a Android Lollipop/Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos is not syncing its contact with phone anymore. They are at contacts in Touchdown but they don't go to the phone.

I noticed 1 month ago and I don't remeber if there was any update of the app or android.

Also, I can't add Touchdown to "my accounts" at the phone.

Hi Adam, my issue is that I cannot access contacts through the Android Contacts and when I try to add Touchdown under Settings, Accounts, it is grey and I cannot select it.

Please check with your IT department if they have suppressed syncing of contacts to the phone using some policy. Some companies which use MDM or other configuration means might have this disabled.

Thank you for the reply.  It is not a policy configuration.  After installing Touchdown, I let the contacts update and then wiped the cache immediately afterwards.  That seems to have done the trick since I can now see my Gmail contacts and Touchdown contacts.

There seems to be some type of conflict with database locking on the Galaxy S5 with Lollipop 5.1 that was just released.

I have the same problem, sync contacts from Exchange to Android Smartphone via Touchdown, then sync from Touchdown to lacal contacts. After first installation of the Smartphone no problem, after a mobilIron config change and a resync of touchdown more than 50% of the contact on smartphone (not in touchdown) are corrupt -

My colleagues are right, no policy-related issue.

I am also attaching a print that shows the touchdown account aligned to the righ and not allowing me to add it to the cell accounts. It can be related.

I tried what WiFiAR said but without any success.

In the settings of touchdown went to the legacy screen and enabled SMS sync. It enabled the touchdown in accounts to be sync in the Contacts settings of Android. Then copy Contacts from touch down to the phone first via selection on touchdown screenof the tpuchdown contact, make sure update to phone in touchdown contacts settings is enabled and you are ready to go.
