hi - not a computer or information technologist for a profession...having some trouble following the best practices for downloading 12.1.4 on a windows 8.1 Pro computer. Windows Defender is not in use and KB2781197 is not installed. I'd love to send the log of what's happening, but not sure where to find it. can you help?

    There may be another issue.

This version is compaitlbe for Window8.1.

Have you check you have applied the right version for right system(64 bit package for 64 bit system)?

    Post the logs.

I shared I'm very new to this, so apologies upfront...I can't find any .log files associated with symantec on my machine. It may be they don't exist or that I just can't find them. Even my view event log was blank.

    Raju123 - I do indeed have windows 8.1 pro 64bit. I am loading the 64bit Symantec

There are .sis scripts available (failure, startrollback, startup)... I've added them below in hopes that it will help. Otherwise other suggestions to find my logs?

First try Cleanwipe tool than install again.

    Please provide SIS_INST.LOG.

SIS_INST.LOG is located at the following location:
