Three problems going on with my computer, not sure how many (if any) are related to Symantec product.

    Computer Information:

I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit Operating System.  I have a wireless connection to my router, which is a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router model WNDR3700.  I recently had to install Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.0.6200.754.

I didn’t notice these problems until after installing Symantec, but I share the computer occasionally so not sure if something else may be going on.

    Problem #1

Every few minutes, if not several times a minute, I get a popup message “Symantec Endpoint Protection  Traffic has been blocked from this application:  Host Process for Windows Services (svchost.exe).”

Sometimes I’m in the other room listening to this sucker ping like Morse-code.

Things I’ve Tried:  (1) ran Spy-Bot S&D, (2) booted in safe-mode and ran Malewarebyte Anti-Malware, (3) tried to change a firewall setting by unchecking “Block Ipv6 (Ethernet type 0x86dd).

    Problem #2

When browsing the web I frequently get DNS service not available.  This does not seem to be isolated with one website.  Oddly enough, I can be using one open browser while another fails, e.g., I can be watching Netflix without any problems, but other open browsers start getting the DNS error.

Things I’ve tried:  (1) repeatedly dried cmd ipconfig /flushdns, (2) changed settings to use 208.67.222.222 and/or 208/67/220/220 as Preferred DNS address, (3) reboot computer, (4) power off and on modem / router.

    Problem #3

Cannot use readyshare to connect to an external USB drive connected to my router.  I get a message that Windows cannot access \\readyshare\USB_Storage, Error code 0x80070035, The network path was not found.

Tried:  contacted Netgear.  Their service seems lacking.

So, I’m pretty much a beginner in all of this and very well could have missed some troubleshooting step in the things I’ve tried to fix these problems.
