    Posted Mar 06, 2011 08:09 PM

Each hour I see the following errors appear in the scm_system.tmp log file.

    2011-03-06 09:20:09,Warning,Site: <SITE NAME>,Server: <SERVER NAME>,Antivirus and antispyware definitions Win64 11.0 MicroDefsB.CurDefs failed to update.
    2011-03-06 09:20:10,Warning,Site: <SITE NAME>,Server: <SERVER NAME>,Antivirus and antispyware definitions Win32 11.0 MicroDefsB.CurDefs failed to update.

The SEPM and SEP client show current definitions in use.

This is part of a replicated 2 x site environment and the other site does not demonstrate this error.

Server is running SEP 11.06a on Windows 2008 R2 with a dedicated SQL 2008 database.

    Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Thanks Rafeeq I am giving it a go now.  I think I have tried it already, but will try again.

    Will update with results.

No change in behaviour has occurred.  Still open for suggestions.

Run the SEP Support tool to know if the definitions are corrupted.

A win of sorts.  The Win64 issues are no longer present.  The Win32's are.

    Looking further into this.

I think I have it sorted.  Will give it a few hours to wind through before resolving.  It looks very promising though.

    Thanks Rafeeq and Pete.

    The issue has now resolved.

There is a need to also clear out the "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content\{1CD85198-26C6-4bac-8C72-5D34B025DE35}" folder of the same content in the article Rafeeq mentioned above (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-clear-corrupt-virus-definitions-sepm).

Thanks again guys for the assistance, this is another one eliminated off of my to-do list now :-)
