    Hello,

No issues would be seen. You can uninstall Avast and Install Symantec.

Assuming you are installing the Latest version of SEP 12.1 RU3.

Is this SEP 12.1 RU3 client going to be a managed client?

If yes, you can created a package with security software removal feature.

Symantec Endpoint Protection can perform security software removal as part of its installation package. Installation packages that are deployed with this feature will remove any currently installed security software listed in the list below. Installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection begins immediately after existing security software is removed.

To enable the security software removal feature, do one of the following:

Enabling security software removal for Enterprise Edition

    1. In Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, go to Admin Install Packages.

    2. Click Client Install Settings.

    3. Under Tasks, click Add Client Install Settings.

    4. Give the file a meaningful name, such as "Third party uninstaller."
Other settings in the file can be left on the default settings or configured as appropriate.

    5. Check Automatically uninstall existing security software.

    6. Save the Client Install Setting file.

The new Client Install Setting can then be chosen when creating or exporting installation packages, or selected from the menu in the Client Deployment Wizard.

    Check this Article:

Third-party security software removal support in Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 and 12.1.3

    Hope that helps!!

    Yes it will work

remove Avast  before installing symantec thats it :)

During install, click on custom option.

Select only Antivirus and Antispyware. Complete the install.

NTP is the firewall component it will block things if not configured properly.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You need to remove Avast first. There is no reason to run two AV side by side as it will only cause performance issues an they will likely conflict.

    It will be work.

But both of the Antivirus are of Different programming.

While scanning both of Antivirus can capture different scanning process. And both can also effect on system performance. So best method is that remove the Avast and after that install the Symantec.

    Hi,

SEP will work before installation remove existing protection solutions.

    # You can install SEP silently and remotely.

I would recommend to create a package and test on a standalone machine and install remotely to avoid some practical issues.

    Regards
