Any command line way of scanning file/dir using Symantec 11. corporate edition. I tried vpscan.exe but it doesn't works. (return some mfc errors on Xp & 2003). Could not find anyother way so googled for SAVSECLS. But my edition dosent have SAVSECLS.(i.e. its not installed with client,if it works with symantec 11 CE then how can i get that ). or is there any other way we can scan files automatically.(in a directory) whenever symantec panel is launched ??
We are working on small project for automatic scanning files using symantec 11 corporate edition.

Go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection or wherever you have installed the SEP Client.
Double-click DoScan.exe for a list of available options.
Hope that helps!
Hello
Did you find any solution for this?
Hii David thanks for your reply by default doScan.exe scan all drives but the objective is to scan a folder/file.... , do you have any idea about that how can we use doscan for scanning particular file/directory.any hidden options/flags/undocumentd options..
Hi Imayl,
Please check out this thread:

The short answer is no. Unfortunately that is a limitation of this utility. There is currently no way to specify a folder/file for scanning. As noted in the end of that thread please submit an enhancement request if you would like to see additional functionality in that utility.
Hope that helps!
thanks ,ok I guess doscan.exe wont solve the purpose ! , are you aware of any version of vpcan.exe or SAVSECLS which works with symantec 11 CE??? if yes where can i download these ?? ( for vpscan I have already tried the link ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/linked_files/ent_sec/vpscan.exe , but the vpscan available here returns MFC errors and it crashes)
I am not aware of any newer versions floating around. As I mentioned earlier your best bet may be to submit an enhancement request for DoScan or Vpscan.
Hope that helps!
Does DoScan.exe support full scan?
Does Doscan.exe support full scan? it seems to me it only support ActiveScan, or anyone knows I can run a full scan from command line?
Would you like to reply?
