Anyone Implementing Encryption Between VTL and Physical Tape Library?

I know it's not strictly a NetBackup topic, but I'm backing up to a VTL using NetBackup and I want to implement a low cost solution to encrypt data when the VTL exports the data to physical tape. I know this is possible but I'm looking for a proven solution that can be done on a pretty tight budget.
If any of you are currently encrypting in this way and could take a minute to point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Chris

Media server encryption option (MSEO)

The NetBackup MSEO option will allow you to backup unencrypted to VTL (copy 1) and then encrypt the duplicates to physical tape (copy 2).

It is a proven solution that works with NetBackup.

Thanks Reagan, but I should

Thanks Reagan, but I should have mentioned I'm backing up a lot of data from NetApp filers direct to tape with NDMP so MSEO isn't an option for me. This has been confirmed with Symantec.

So far I've found Neoscale Cryptostor and Avax Paranoia 3 as potential solutions, does anyone have experience of using these appliances?

Hardware encryption

HI Chrisa72,

Sorry, I don't have any experience with any encryption appliances.  Another option would be to upgrade the tape drives to LTO-4 and use a software to manage the encryption keys.  I'm not sure if NetBackup 6.5.4 has a supported encryption key management feature.

Hi Reagan, I looked into that

Hi Reagan,
I looked into that option but for what I'd spend upgrading my drives I may as well just buy the encryption appliances.

Thanks for taking the time to answer :-)

Cheers,
Chris

Not sure how much it costs

But you could look into Sun KMS encryption.
