I read in the SEC_for_Apache_43.pdf contained in Apache_Web_Server_Event_Collector_4.3.5_AllLinux_EN.zip that :

The collector runs on the following operating systems:
■ Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later
■ Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 4 or later
■ Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 or later
■ Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition with Service Pack 1 or later
■ Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later
■ Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0
■ Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4.0

I was wondering if it worked on solaris machins too.

In case it wasn't, if I'm not mistaken, I could install the apche collctor on SIM Manager server and configure a sensor for each apache istance I have. Is it right?

In this case what is the collector which I have to install on apache running machine? The Symantec Security Information Manager Local Event Collector v4.3?
