Application & Device Control crashes my clients

my problem is not to assign a exe file to be blocked. i have look though the manual and tired the examples descriped. to make this clear my setup is this
 
Client = Windows XP Pro SP2 Eng
Manager = Windows 2003 Server
Consol = installed on Windows XP Pro SP2 Eng with Sun Java 1.5
 
Client version : 11.0.1000.1375
Endpoint manager : 11.0.1000.1375
as troubleshooting says, i check that policies was populated and tried the following denies for running a EXE file
 
Policies/Application & Device Control/Application Control/Block Application from running/
 
Attempt 1.
"Launch Process Attempt"/Apply to the following processes
notepad.exe
Action : Block access
Notify Enable
 
Result
My notepad dont start. but instead i get this error dialog "The handle is invalid"
 
Attempt 2.
"Launch Process Attempt"/Apply to the following processes
notepad.exe
Action : Terminate access
Notify Enable
 
Result
My notepad dont start. but now the Windows Explore crashes by all icons disappears and taskbar closes and starts again
 
 
Attempt 3.
"Read/folder Access Control"/Apply to the following processes
notepad.exe
Action : Terminate access
Notify Enable
 
Result
This time it goes really wrong. Windows makes an illigal exception at prompts me with a dialog with windows is shutting down i 60 sec please save all your work.
 
hans any got succes with using application blocking?
